A truck for Christmas!
Well an early Christmas present to ourselves this year was a Toyota Tundra. Its not exactly the newest model but it does have 4WD, and a few other features we need for towing the horse trailer, like a V8. We have been hauling the horses around using the Jeep Grand Cherokee for the last few years and its well, slowly moving towards the junk yard in the sky. Along with a lot of our cash!

So a new truck it is. As you will see from the photos when you click the link here, someone liked the idea a whole bunch. "Oh what a feeling"

Banjo Patterson the pony arrives
We were lucky enough to find a new friend for Connor in a Arab/QH pony. We brought him home Thanksgiving eve and he is settling in to his new home. He wont get to meet Connor till Sunday night as Connor is staying at friends place and will be returning Sunday night after Mary takes him to a show at Pine Top in Thomson GA on the weekend.

The pony's new nickname is 'Patto' and named after the Australian author and poet and creator of the famous Aussie song Waltzing Matilda. Hit Read More below you will see a video taken Thanksgiving Day 2008 as Patto gets used to his new home.

There are some photos also in the gallery area too. We hope to see you soon and perhaps we will have Patto with us as he is sure to be a lot of fun to take trail riding and maybe even to competitions down the path. Happy Thanksgiving from us!

Sad times here
We are very saddened by the loss of of our oldest horse Topper. He was well into his 20s and although having slowed down a lot was doing ok. He was eating well and still playing around with Connor even on Saturday afternoon a few hours before he laid down and passed away here at home.

Topper had been part of Mary's life for close on 15 years and they both had wonderful times and partnership together competing at many shows throughout the years and just in others company. He also virtually raised Mary's other horse and Connor will for sure wonder where his old friend and lifelong partner has gone all of a sudden.

We will have some recent photos of him up shortly. There you will see a proud old horse that we all loved very much. He was an OTTB (Off the track thoroughbred) and had just two race starts as a youngster. There were days out in the pasture you could see the racehorse in him still, putting the head down and gunning down the fenceline as fast as he could.

We thank everyone for their kind thoughts and well wishes during this time. He was a grand old fella and we will miss him a lot for a very long time.Topper was laid to rest Sunday at a close friends farm in Alpharetta.

Hitting the town in style

The Australian New Zealand Chamber of Commerce here in Atlanta hold an annual black tie ball each year raising money the past few years for UNICEF. This year I was invited as a special guest which was good as the tickets were $150 each and really I was not going to go at that price.

So a free night out and one of the selected four honorees meant for a fun night in the fancy 5 Star Inter Continental Hotel in Atlanta. We were joined by our good friends Jim and Cindy Batten. You can see some photos in the latest photos section. I was awarded a crystal trophy on a stand and a sterling silver pen from Toffany & Co. Pretty nice.

We have a new addition

Well, its finally happened ,we have a new member of the family. A horse friend found a dog that she couldn't find the owner for and was asking for people to adopt him. Well thats us, a 1 yr old male Chocolate Labrador is now a new family member. He is still going through a puppy stage but after visiting the vet and getting his shots up to date and some other things checked out we realize he still has some growing to do. He is about 78lbs at the moment and a little light still from a few weeks of neglect before our friend found him.

So he is going to rival our old girl Katie nearly who passed away about 3 years ago.
